Description

If there is a disagreement (‘dispute’) between two or more people or groups, we can try to help both sides come to an agreement. It’s called ‘mediation.’
Mediation cannot be used if an application has been made or could be made to an employment court for a dispute.
Mediation is carried out by a neutral person (‘the mediator’). The mediator is unbiased. This means they’re not taking sides. They are there to help both parties find a solution that all parties agree to.

It is usually used to settle labor relations disputes.
